Twenty minutes a day for five days. Each day uses a free sample from Paperchime, with an answer page for the adult. At the end you will know which subject to practise next. This is practice for an adult to do with a child. It is not a test and it does not diagnose anything.
Print the free sample “The quiet rehearsal” (3 pages). Read the short passage aloud together, twice. Your child answers the six questions, then you check them on the last page, which is the answer guidance. Accept a different answer when your child can support it from the passage.
What to look for. Does your child find the answer in the passage, and say where?
Print the free sample “Shapes Around Us” (3 pages). Read the Learn box and the worked example together, then your child tries the questions. Check them on the answer page. If a question is too hard, stop and note which one.
What to look for. Can your child explain one answer in their own words?
Print the free sample “पानी की बचत” (2 pages: the text with questions, then the answer guidance). Read the Hindi text aloud together, then your child answers the questions in Hindi. If you do not read Hindi, use the answer guidance in the sample and let your child lead the reading.
What to look for. Does your child read the words smoothly, or stop at the same kinds of letters?
Open the four-page preview of the Class 4 EVS workbook and read its contents list. Pick one topic your child has met at school. Ask your child to explain it to you in their own words, then write three sentences about it.
What to look for. Can your child explain the idea without reading the page?
Look at what you noted on the four days. Which one was hardest? Do that sample again, with fewer prompts. Then choose where to go next: the “Where do we start?” guide asks what your child finds hard and points to the practice that fits.
What to look for. Which day felt easiest, and which needs another go?
