Choose what your school teaches
My school books.
Start with your class, school session and actual books. Check chapter practice separately from general reading, grammar and writing skills.
Your book details are used on this page. They are not submitted to Paperchime or saved as a pupil record. A publisher name alone does not establish a match.
Work with any reader
Use your own assigned text for these open reading prompts. They can support Oxford, NCERT and other readers. They are general reading practice; they do not replace text-specific questions or your teacher’s assessment.
- State what happens, or what the speaker considers, in two sentences.
- Choose a word or short phrase from your book. Explain its effect in context.
- Make one inference about a character, speaker or idea. Give the passage or line that supports it.
- Describe a change, contrast or repeated pattern. Explain how it affects the meaning.
- Write a question that the text leaves open. Give two possible readings and test each against the text.
- Write a short response to the text, then revise it after checking your evidence.
Answer guidance for an adult or study partner
Check accuracy against the assigned text. A defensible answer names evidence, explains how it supports the interpretation and recognises ambiguity. Different interpretations can be reasonable. Check vocabulary against context and a dictionary. Ask the learner to revise unsupported claims.
How we label a match
School inclusion checked: the school’s dated list names the text. Related skills practice: an exercise teaches part of a relevant skill. Chapter practice available: the named text, edition and exercises have been checked together. Awaiting mapping: we cannot yet offer checked chapter practice. These checks are separate, and all remaining gaps stay visible.
For a missing reader, an adult can share the book title, edition, contents page and school’s prescribed chapters through Contact and support. Check the official school plan for changes.
